Deerpark, Mount Merrion
Deerpark is one of the great resources of Dublin - 32 acres of public park that features trees of over 300 years old in a safe, family-friendly setting. We have been using this location for over 5 years and children love discovering nature here.
The Grove, Donnybrook
The Grove is a hidden oasis of nature near the centre of Dublin. The site is a secret woodland, where flora and fauna thrive. Managed by An Taisce, it is rarely accessible to the public, providing a special opportunity for kids to explore nature in a Wildlife Sanctuary setting.
Both our locations can be booked through our booking platform at the link below. Please ensure that you book your desired location before submitting your request.
What is Forest School?
Forest School is an inspirational process that allows kids regular opportunities to achieve and develop confidence and self-esteem through hands-on learning experiences in a natural environment.
It has become more popular in recent years as people search for a child-focused alternative to the teacher-focused classroom environment and has become more formalised through the establishment of Forest School Associations in Ireland and the UK. Kerkus Forest School is accredited by the Irish Forest School Association (IFSA).
Our Forest School Sessions
We run weekly Forest School sessions at Deerpark Mount Merrion and the Grove Donnybrook during school terms, catering for ages from 4 - 12. More information can be found below or by clicking directly on the booking tab above. We also run Camps outside of school terms which again cater for children aged 4 - 12. Please do check out our FAQ page or contact us if you have any queries.
Can't find a space please join our waiting list.
We get asked all kinds of questions, mainly to do with what forest school involves, what to wear, and whether it is safe for kids to use tools. We’ve answered the most frequent questions here - if you have any other queries, don’t hesitate to contact us. Our policies and procedures can be viewed upon request.
